Earth on Us at the Dakota County Fair, MN

August 14 & 16, 2026 | Dakota County Fairgrounds, Farmington, MN

On August 14 and August 16, 2026, Earth on Us tabled at the Dakota County Fair, sharing the Recycle Right game and our Learn. Act. Make a Difference activities with fairgoers of all ages. Families stopped by throughout both days to sort recyclables, take the pledge, and talk about the five everyday earth-friendly actions youth can start right away.

Thank you to Dakota County 4-H for giving Earth on Us this tabling opportunity and for the tremendous support that made both days possible. Being hosted inside the 4-H building put our activities right where curious kids and families were already exploring.

Special thanks to Daniel and Kushal, a Minnesota 4-H State Ambassador from Dakota County, for hosting the table across both days — welcoming visitors, running the recycling sorting game, and answering questions about how small daily choices add up.

We are also deeply grateful to Tammy and Dean Skuza for their enormous support of our initiative and for their willingness to help us secure additional tabling opportunities at the Minnesota State Fair, the largest fair venue in Minnesota. Their encouragement continues to open doors for youth-led environmental education across the state.

Thank you as well to Dean D. Durgan and President Cunningham for stopping by our table. It meant a great deal to our youth volunteers to share their work and hear firsthand encouragement from University of Minnesota leadership.

Events like the Dakota County Fair show how much interest there is in simple, practical environmental action. Thank you to everyone who visited, played the game, and pledged to Recycle Right, Bring My Water Bottle, Turn Off Lights, Take the School Bus, and Grow My Garden.
