Recycle Right at La Salle Catholic College Preparatory, OR

To celebrate Earth Day on April 22, 2026, Earth on Us Student Board Member Amelia introduced our newly developed online Recycle Right Game during her club meeting at La Salle Catholic College Preparatory in Milwaukie, Oregon.

Designed specifically for high school students and older youth, the interactive game challenged participants to sort everyday items into the correct Recycle, Compost, or Garbage bins while learning why proper waste sorting is essential for protecting the environment. After completing all 48 items, students received personalized results, reviewed their answers, and were invited to take the Recycle Right Pledge.

The online format made it easy for students to participate using their own phones and computers, creating an engaging Earth Day activity that combined technology with environmental learning. More importantly, the game encouraged students to think critically about recycling contamination and how everyday choices can make a meaningful difference in their schools and communities.

Reflecting on the event, Amelia shared:

Her success demonstrates the mission of Earth on Us: empowering young people to educate their peers and inspire environmental action. By bringing the Recycle Right Game to her club, Amelia helped turn Earth Day into a fun, interactive learning experience while encouraging classmates to recycle correctly every day.

We are proud of Amelia for leading this Earth Day outreach and helping expand Earth on Us’s environmental education programs to high school students across the country.
